Scaff tag

nounStandard termBuilding

A physical inspection label attached to scaffolding to indicate its safety status.

A high-visibility tag system attached to the access points of scaffolding to display its current inspection status. The holder usually displays a red warning to not use the structure by default. A green or yellow insert is added only after a competent person inspects and signs off on the erection. It tracks the date of the last inspection, load ratings, and the inspector's signature.
