A premium asphalt shingle made by bonding two or more layers of fiberglass backing coated in asphalt and granules. The overlapping layers create varied thickness and depth, mimicking the look of traditional wood shakes or slate. They are heavier, last longer, and resist wind uplift better than flat three-tab shingles.
The HOA requires a dimensional shingle, so we can't use the standard three-tabs on this reroof.
Because they lack the uniform cutouts of three-tab shingles, dimensional shingles are faster to install since the vertical slots do not have to align perfectly across courses.
