The Private Pilot Licence (or License) is the standard entry-level certificate for civilian aviators. It allows a pilot to command an aircraft and carry passengers, provided they are not compensated for the flight. Earning a PPL requires passing a written exam, completing a minimum number of flight hours, and passing a practical checkride with an examiner.
I'm finishing up my cross-country hours so I can finally take my PPL checkride next month.
