Cyclic

nounStandard termAviation

A helicopter control stick that changes the pitch of the main rotor blades to direct horizontal movement.

The primary flight control lever typically positioned between a helicopter pilot's knees. Moving it tilts the main rotor disk in the corresponding direction, which vectors the lift and drives the aircraft forward, backward, left, or right. It works by changing the pitch of each rotor blade individually as it cycles through its rotation.
