The process of introducing atomized water, often mixed with methanol, into the intake manifold of a high-performance engine. The latent heat of vaporization absorbs massive amounts of heat from the intake charge, dramatically lowering combustion chamber temperatures. This allows tuners to run much higher boost pressures and advanced ignition timing without triggering destructive engine knock.
We're going to add water injection to the build so we can run twenty pounds of boost on pump gas.
