Outbrake

verbShop talkAutomotive

To brake later and harder than a competitor entering a corner to gain a track position.

A racing maneuver where a driver delays applying the brakes longer than the car alongside them when approaching a turn. By carrying speed deeper into the braking zone and decelerating more efficiently, the driver can pass the opponent on the inside line. It requires high confidence in the vehicle braking system and tire grip.
