Divebomb

verbShop talkAutomotive

To execute an aggressive, late-braking passing maneuver on the inside of a corner.

This aggressive driving maneuver involves braking much later than the car ahead and diving into the inside line of a corner to force an overtake. It relies on surprising the leading driver and forcing them to alter their line to avoid a collision. While celebrated when successful in professional racing, it is heavily frowned upon in amateur track days due to the high risk of catastrophic side-impact crashes.
