Splice tape is engineered to connect webs of paper, film, or foil in continuous manufacturing processes, such as printing or coating. It must grab instantly and possess high shear strength to survive the tension of the web running through rollers at high speeds. Depending on the process, splice tapes may need to resist high oven temperatures or dissolve completely in water.
Hit the e-stop, the splice tape failed in the drying oven and we lost the web.
