A small, continuous line of squeeze-out shows the joint was fully filled. No squeeze-out suggests a starved joint, and too much wastes material and causes cleanup or cosmetic rejects. Squeeze-out is either tooled into a fillet, wiped off before cure or trimmed after. On anaerobics it stays liquid in air and must be wiped or activated.
Nice even squeeze-out all round, that one's full. The next one's dry on the left, re-do it.
Inspectors read squeeze-out as evidence: a consistent bead all the way round is the cheapest proof that the joint is full.
