Plant shorthand for the lubrication technician: the craftsperson who runs lube routes, greases bearings, changes and tops off oil, pulls samples, manages the lube room and filter carts, and keeps product labels straight. In reliability-minded plants it is a certified, respected role; elsewhere it lands on the newest person on the crew. A good lube tech catches failures early from what they see, hear and smell on route.
Ask the lube tech before you add anything, she knows what's in every gearbox on this line.
