Combustion spraying in which powder, wire or rod is fed into an oxygen-acetylene or oxygen-propane flame and the melted material is carried to the part by the expanding gases, sometimes boosted with compressed air. Particle velocities are low, so coatings are relatively porous and weakly bonded, but the equipment is cheap and portable. It is used for spray-and-fuse alloys, zinc and aluminum, polymers and quick repair work.
It's just a bearing seat on a pump shaft, flame spray some 420 and machine it, don't tie up the HVOF booth.
