Small Computer System Interface defines commands, protocols, and electrical interfaces used primarily for hard drives and tape drives. It allows multiple devices to be daisy-chained on a single bus, with each device assigned a unique ID. Although largely replaced by faster serial interfaces in consumer hardware, its command set remains the foundation for many enterprise storage protocols.
