RoIP (Radio over Internet Protocol) integrates traditional land mobile radio systems with IP networks. It works similarly to VoIP but includes radio-specific signaling functions like push-to-talk (PTT) keying and squelch control. This allows dispatchers to control remote base stations over standard internet connections and bridges different radio networks across vast geographic distances without dedicated leased audio lines.
We're migrating the legacy analog repeaters to an RoIP gateway so dispatch can monitor all regional traffic from the central office.
