Day letter

nounStandard termTelecom & IT

A historic deferred telegraph service delivered during business hours.

A traditional telegraph service where a message was transmitted and delivered during the day, but at a lower priority than standard fast telegrams. It allowed senders to transmit longer messages, typically up to 50 words, at a reduced rate. The network routed these messages during lulls in high-priority traffic.
