A pre-engineered block of fiber, typically 300 mm square, made by folding or stacking blanket under compression and banding it around internal hardware that fastens to studs on the furnace shell. Modules are laid in parquet or soldier patterns, and when the bands are cut they expand against their neighbors to close the joints and allow for shrinkage. They let crews line large heater and furnace walls and roofs in days.
Roof modules go in parquet pattern, cut the bands only after the whole row is tight.
