A visual display on the front of a locomotive used to indicate the train's class, route, or identity.

A system of lamps, discs, or illuminated alphanumeric panels displayed on the front of a locomotive to broadcast the train's classification or specific schedule number to dispatchers and tower operators. It allows lineside staff to identify an approaching train and route it accordingly.
