A specialized test car used to measure the power and performance of a locomotive.

A heavily instrumented piece of rolling stock coupled directly behind a locomotive to record its tractive effort, speed, fuel consumption, and brake performance. It uses a specialized drawbar connected to hydraulic or electronic load cells to measure the exact pulling force exerted by the engine under real-world train loads.
