A small, low-horsepower locomotive used for industrial switching.

A diminutive switching locomotive, typically a small diesel-mechanical or diesel-hydraulic unit used in private industrial yards, grain elevators, or repair facilities. These units lack the horsepower and weight of mainline road power, designed instead to move a handful of cars at low speeds over tight industry trackage.

The mill uses a little 40-ton critter to shuffle gondolas under the loading chute.
