A printmaking technique and the resulting print created by cutting into a sheet of linoleum. The non-printing areas are gouged away, and the remaining raised surface is inked with a brayer and pressed onto paper. It is favored for its bold, graphic lines and ease of carving compared to traditional woodblocks.
