Spud

nounStandard termPlumbing

A short, threaded metal or plastic fitting used to connect a toilet bowl to its flush valve or tank.

A specialized plumbing fitting that provides a secure, threaded connection point on a ceramic fixture, most commonly found on the back or top of a commercial toilet bowl or urinal. It serves as the mechanical bridge between the porcelain and the flushometer valve or the bottom of a flush tank.

Heard on the job

The urinal is leaking right at the spud, so we'll need to pull the flushometer and tighten the locknut.
