VLB

abbreviationStandard termPCBs

Very large board, a printed circuit board that exceeds standard manufacturing panel sizes.

Very large board refers to an oversized PCB, often used in backplanes, server infrastructure, or specialized test equipment. These boards require custom fabrication panels, specialized handling, and oversized assembly equipment because they do not fit in standard pick-and-place machines or reflow ovens.

The new backplane is a VLB, so we've to verify that our contract manufacturer has an oven wide enough to reflow it.
