A bolted access plate on a dewatering pump that covers the internal check valve.

A heavy, bolted access plate on the side of a large mine dewatering pump that covers the check valve assembly. Removing this plate allows mechanics to inspect, clear debris from, or replace the internal clack valve without dismantling the entire pump column.
