A puddle bar is the first wrought iron product created after squeezing and rolling a hot puddle ball. It is rough, highly fibrous, and still contains significant slag inclusions. To make commercial merchant bar, puddle bars are cut, stacked, reheated, and rolled again to refine the grain and distribute the remaining slag.
We need to stack and reheat these puddle bars to get the grade of iron the client specified.
