A traditional vocal call used by lookouts to announce a sighting.

A loud exclamation appended to the name of a sighted object to alert the crew and officers on deck. It directs immediate attention to a hazard, a landmark, or another vessel appearing on the horizon. The call is usually followed by a relative bearing to help the bridge locate the target.
