Bunk

nounStandard termMaritime

A built-in bed on a vessel, typically stacked in tiers to save space.

A narrow sleeping berth built directly into the structure of a ship or cabin. Because space is highly restricted on vessels, bunks are usually stacked vertically and fitted with raised edges or lee cloths to keep the occupant from rolling out in heavy seas.
