Set of segments stored in a furnace controller: ramp rates, setpoints, soak times, carbon potentials, quench delays and agitation speeds for one part family. Recipes are numbered and locked under quality systems, so changing one usually takes an engineering sign-off. Running the wrong recipe is one of the most common root causes behind a heat-treat nonconformance.
