Temperature uniformity survey, in which thermocouples placed at the corners and center of the qualified work zone record temperature through a stabilized hold. The spread must stay inside the furnace class tolerance, such as plus or minus 6 °C for Class 2 or plus or minus 14 °C for Class 5, at intervals set by pyrometry specs like AMS 2750. A failed TUS takes the furnace out of service for that range.
TUS is due on the temper oven Friday, get the survey rack and nine TCs ready.
