A woodland area that has regrown after a major timber harvest or natural stand-replacing event.

A forest in the process of regeneration following a clearcut or severe fire. Second-growth stands typically have trees of a uniform age and size, a denser canopy, and less coarse woody debris compared to the original primary forest.
