Chaff cutter

nounStandard termFarming

A mechanical device used to chop straw or hay into small pieces for livestock feed.

A historic or small-scale agricultural machine equipped with rotating blades that chops dried forage, such as straw or hay, into short lengths called chaff. Chopping the material makes it easier for animals to digest and allows it to be mixed evenly with grain or other supplements.
