Broadcaster

nounStandard termFarming

An implement that flings seed or dry fertilizer evenly across the soil surface.

A tractor-mounted or hand-pushed machine equipped with a spinning disk or oscillating spout that throws granular material in a wide arc. It is used to quickly cover large areas with cover crop seeds, granular fertilizers, or lime. Operators must carefully calibrate the flow rate and driving speed to ensure an even distribution pattern without heavy overlaps or bare strips.
