A traditional, rudimentary shelter or outbuilding on an agricultural estate designed to accommodate unmarried male farmworkers. These structures provided basic sleeping quarters and a place to cook meals away from the main farmhouse. While their use for full-time farmhand accommodation is historic, the term survives in rural areas to describe remote estate shelters or rough bunkhouses used during peak seasonal work.
