A prunt is an applied dollop of molten glass fused to the outside wall of a glass object. Once attached, the glassmaker stamps or tools the blob into a specific shape, such as a raspberry, a flat seal, or a pointed spike. Historically used on drinking vessels to provide a secure grip for greasy hands, prunts are now primarily decorative elements that add texture and visual weight to art glass.

Apply the prunts evenly around the stem before the piece cools too much.
