A roof-mounted device that prevents accumulated snow from sliding off in large sheets.

A bracket, bar, or rail system installed on a pitched roof to hold snow and ice in place. By keeping the snow mass on the roof, it forces the snow to melt gradually and drain as liquid, preventing dangerous avalanches that can damage gutters, lower roofs, or injure pedestrians below.
