Gravel stop

nounStandard termBuilding

A metal flashing edge that keeps loose gravel from washing off a flat roof.

A flanged sheet metal profile installed along the perimeter of a built-up or low-slope roof. It features a raised lip that retains the protective gravel or slag surfacing while allowing water to drain over the edge or toward scuppers. This prevents heavy rains from stripping the roof bare and protects people below from falling rocks.

Make sure the gravel stop is fully sealed at the corners before we spread the ballast.
