A navigation camera (Navcam) is a wide-angle stereoscopic camera system mounted on a planetary rover's mast. It captures 3D panoramic images of the surrounding terrain, which operators and autonomous driving software use to plot safe driving paths. Unlike high-resolution science cameras, Navcams prioritize field of view and depth perception over color accuracy or extreme detail.
