A position and orientation system is an integrated sensor suite that tracks an aircraft's exact location and attitude.

A position and orientation system combines GPS receivers with inertial measurement units to continuously calculate a vehicle's geographic coordinates, altitude, pitch, roll, and heading. Aerial surveyors and remote sensing operators rely on these systems to precisely georeference data from cameras, LIDAR, or radar payloads.
