CSM stands for Command and Service Module, the two-part vehicle that carried astronauts to lunar orbit and back. The conical command module housed the crew, life support, and reentry heat shield. The cylindrical service module provided propulsion, electrical power, and oxygen, and was jettisoned just before the command module reentered the atmosphere.
The CSM engine performed flawlessly during the trans-Earth injection burn.
