An electrical igniter embedded inside an airbag module or seatbelt retractor. When the crash sensors detect an impact, the restraint control module sends a low-voltage electrical pulse to this device. The element rapidly heats up, igniting a solid propellant charge that generates the inert gas needed to inflate the airbag cushion in milliseconds.
The scanner is throwing a high resistance code for the driver side squib circuit, so check the clockspring.
A squib circuit code usually points to a bad connection, a broken clockspring, or a deployed pretensioner rather than a faulty module.
