Originally a historic British automobile marque that produced economy cars and roadsters before being absorbed by the Rootes Group. In custom car culture, the name almost exclusively refers to Singer Vehicle Design, a boutique California shop that rebuilds classic air-cooled Porsche 911s into ultra-premium, bespoke restomods.

Insider tip
When a gearhead talks about a Singer, they usually mean a half-million-dollar custom Porsche, not a vintage British saloon.
