Feedline

nounStandard termAutomotive

The primary hose or pipe that delivers fuel from the tank to the engine.

The pressurized tube responsible for transporting liquid fuel from the fuel pump to the fuel rail or carburetor. It must withstand high pressures and chemical degradation. A compromised feedline will cause a drop in fuel pressure, leading to lean running conditions, stalling, or a catastrophic engine bay fire.

Heard on the job

Check the feedline right where it bends near the firewall, they always crack there and spray gas everywhere.
