Crawl control

nounStandard termAutomotive

An automated off-road driving system that maintains a steady, low speed over rough terrain.

An advanced traction and speed management system used in off-road vehicles. The computer takes over the throttle and braking to maintain a constant, very low speed, usually between one and five miles per hour. This allows the driver to focus entirely on steering through deep sand, rocks, or steep inclines without slipping or stalling.

Put it in four low, turn on the crawl control, and just steer around the boulders while the truck does the footwork.
