attometre

unitStandard termUnits

An SI unit of length equal to one quintillionth of a metre.

The attometre is a subatomic measurement representing 10⁻¹⁸ metres. It is used in particle physics to describe the scale of quarks and the weak nuclear force. At this scale, distances are a thousand times smaller than a proton, requiring high-energy particle accelerators to probe.
