Everlasting is an older textile term for a very strong, tightly woven worsted wool cloth. It was manufactured to withstand heavy abrasion and harsh conditions, making it a staple for making rugged trousers, gaiters, and the uppers of women's boots. The tight weave made it highly resistant to tearing and wearing thin.
