Having a left-handed or S-shaped twist in a yarn or rope.

A structural description of yarn or thread spun with a left-handed twist. When the yarn is held vertically, the fibers angle downward and to the right, resembling the central stroke of the letter S.

Make sure you thread the machine with crossband yarn for the weft to get the right texture.
