A Subscriber Identity Module card that authenticates a device on a cellular network.

The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is an integrated circuit that securely stores the international mobile subscriber identity number and its related cryptographic key. Cellular providers use this chip to identify and authenticate subscribers on mobile networks. Without a valid SIM, a mobile device can only make emergency calls and cannot access voice or data services.
