Forward echo

nounStandard termTelecom & IT

A signal reflection that travels in the same direction as the original transmission.

A type of signal interference where energy is reflected backward by a discontinuity in the transmission line, and then reflected forward again by a second discontinuity. This double-reflection causes a delayed, attenuated copy of the signal to arrive at the receiver just after the primary signal. In video transmission, this manifests as ghosting on the screen.
