FastWide SCSI is a legacy standard that doubled both the bus width and the clock speed of original SCSI implementations. By using a 16-bit wide cable and transferring at 10 megatransfers per second, it achieved a maximum theoretical throughput of 20 megabytes per second. It required a high-density 68-pin connector and precise active termination to maintain signal integrity over the parallel ribbon cables.
Check the terminator block on that old server, the FastWide SCSI chain is throwing parity errors.
