Dynamic Rapid Configuration Protocol is an extension to DHCP designed for faster IP address assignment.

Dynamic Rapid Configuration Protocol (DRCP) is a network protocol that extends standard DHCP to assign IP addresses and configuration parameters more quickly. It reduces the standard four-way handshake to minimize connection delays for devices rapidly joining and leaving a network, such as mobile nodes roaming between wireless access points.

We enabled DRCP on the wireless controllers to stop the roaming delay when forklifts switch access points.
