The cumulative distance measured along a baseline, such as the centerline of a road or railway.

A system of referencing locations along a linear project by their distance from a fixed starting point. It is typically measured along the centerline of a road, pipeline, or railway. The distance is often expressed in stations, where a reading like 10+50 means 1,050 feet or meters from the start.
