Nanobot

nounStandard termRobotics

A microscopic robot built on the scale of nanometers, typically intended for medical or material applications.

An autonomous or semi-autonomous machine constructed at the nanoscale, usually measuring a few micrometers or less. While mostly theoretical or in early research phases, nanobots are designed to manipulate matter at the atomic or molecular level, with proposed applications ranging from targeted drug delivery within the human bloodstream to self-assembling materials.
